A Couple of Researchers

Dave and I have both been involved with some research at work and, coincidentally, we both received recognition for our work this month!

Dave has been analyzing the results of a survey on the salaries of the members of his company, AAPC, and the health care field in general. He has worked long and hard (and late into the night!) on this project and he was given a by-line in the article that was written based on his findings: http://news.aapc.com/index.php/2012/09/salary-survey-2012-trends-show-growth-and-diversification/

I have been involved in a research project over the past year to determine the best practices for teaching literacy to adult English Language Learners who are not literate in their native language. This is a special challenge because they are learning English orally at the same time that they are learning to read for the first time in their lives. It's exciting work and I am now developing a curriculum based on the findings of our research. The Salt Lake Tribune recently interviewed me for this article:
