Dave and I have both been involved with some research at work and, coincidentally, we both received recognition for our work this month!
Dave has been analyzing the results of a survey on the salaries of the members of his company, AAPC, and the health care field in general. I have been involved in a research project over the past year to determine the best practices for teaching literacy to adult English Language Learners who are not literate in their native language. This is a special challenge because they are learning English orally at the same time that they are learning to read for the first time in their lives. It's exciting work and I am now developing a curriculum based on the findings of our research. The Salt Lake Tribune recently interviewed me for this article:
